Skiing on Kronplatz skiresort

For all those who spend their winter holidays in San Vigilio di Marebbe, the ski resort Kronplatz/Plan de Corones is a must. It is one of the most modern ski resorts world wide, with more than 30 fast and comfortable cabin lifts and up to 100 km of enchanting slopes with snow making facilities. From end of November, skiing is possible and season ends in April. there are slopes for all levels.

The black race slope „Erta“, which falls down towards the village, is a real attraction! And the slope „Cianross“ near the centre of town, is open for night skiing during the week.

The fun on the skis gets double thanks to the SkiPustertalExpress, a skier's train that connects the two skiing areas Kronplatz and Sextner Dolomiten and enlarges the offer of slopes and lifts. The trasfer takes 40 minutes of time by train and the connections are guaranteed every 30 minutes. Dolomiti Superskipass is needed, whilst the train transfer is for free with the SkiMobilityCard you get at your accommodation.

The ski resort Kronplatz/Plan de Corones offers also lots of cosy ski huts for lunch with regional specialities.

Cross country skiing in the nature park Fanes-Senes-Braies

The cross country slope to the Rautal-Valley starts directly near the village of San Vigilio di Marebbe. From there on, cross country skiing fans can experience up to 24 km of pure winter pleasure. Crossing snowy fields, the slope leads through the valley, passes iced rivers, drawing slight serpentines in the landscape. Those who are in a good shape can reach Pederü at the top of the valley, whilst the others can choose one of the shorter rinks. Cross country skiing in the UNESCO World Heritage - this exclusive dream comes true in San Vigilio di Marebbe. The circuit belongs to Dolomiti Nordic Ski and the rates are those of the group.

The cross country slopes can be used for free, but those who like to give a tip for maintenance are welcome.

Skitours and snow shoeing in the nature park Fanes-Senes-Braies

The snowy summits of the Dolomite Mountains are the best goal for excursions in winter time. Experts in ski alpinism or those who want to become one, couldn't choose a better location for learning or enjoying this discipline.

From the 2,000 metres altitude of the plateau, the way goes up to the 3,000 m high summits, such as the Muntejela de Sennes or the Lavarella. The view on the UNESCO World Heritage is amazing.

Even those who don't ski, can reach the summits of Dolomite Mountains, maybe on snow shoes and accompaigned by local alpine guides. Ice skating

In the centre of San Vigilio there is an ice skating facility. Those who like to glide on skates across the ice field, trying to dance or to learn it, ca do this at the Bar Stadio's. It is opened the whole day and a skate rental is available.

Winter hiking

Around the village of San Vigilio, there are groomed hiking paths even in winter time, so that romantic walks through enchanted snowy woods can be done, enjoying the sun and the silence. All this without fear to get wet feet.

Sledging

During winter time, the forestal road to the top station of the "Cianross"-gondola turns into a 800-m-long sledging track, which is on duty even in the evening and is served by the gondola herself. The daily skipass is valid in the evening as well.
